Our Chapters
To build a united, empowered, and prosperous Iteso community by promoting education, networking, cultural preservation, advocacy, and economic empowerment.
Connecting Iteso Across North America and Beyond
INAA is one family spread across many cities. Our regional chapters bring members together where they live, so that the values of unity, education, culture and mutual support are practised close to home, not just at national events. Each chapter organises local gatherings, welcomes newcomers, supports families in times of joy and loss, and carries the Ateker heritage forward to the next generation.
What Our Chapters Do
- Welcome and settlement support – helping new arrivals, students and families find their footing in a new country.
- Cultural preservation – celebrating Ateso language, music, dance, food and traditions through local events.
- Networking and mentorship – connecting professionals, students and young people for career growth and guidance.
- Community welfare – standing with members during weddings, graduations, illness and bereavement.
- Development back home – mobilising support for education, health and livelihood projects in the Teso Region.
- Representation – carrying local voices and ideas to INAA’s national leadership and annual convention.
Our Chapters

From Boston to the D.C. metro area, the Northeast Chapter connects members across some of the busiest cities in the country. The chapter hosts community get-togethers, cultural celebrations and professional networking, and is a first point of contact for members arriving on the East Coast.
US – Pacific / West
Covering California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Alaska and Hawaii.
The Pacific/West Chapter brings together members spread across a vast region. Through regular virtual meetings and in-person gatherings, it keeps families, students and professionals connected and ensures that distance never weakens the bonds of community.
US – Midwest
Covering Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Rooted in the heartland, the Midwest Chapter is known for its warm hospitality and strong family networks. The chapter supports students and young professionals, organises seasonal events and keeps cultural traditions alive for children growing up in the diaspora.
US – Southeast
Covering Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
The Southeast Chapter unites members from Atlanta to Florida and the Carolinas. It focuses on fellowship, mentorship and practical support for families, while celebrating Iteso culture through music, dance and shared meals.
US – Southwest
Covering Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona.
The Southwest Chapter serves a fast-growing community across Texas and its neighbouring states. It provides a welcoming home for newcomers, creates opportunities for professional networking and brings members together for cultural and social events throughout the year.
Canada
Covering all Canadian provinces and territories.
The Canada Chapter connects Iteso living from coast to coast, with strong communities in major cities. It supports newcomers through settlement, education and employment, and partners with the U.S. chapters to strengthen a truly North American Iteso family.
Mexico
Covering members living, studying or working in Mexico.
The Mexico Chapter offers a point of connection for Iteso in Mexico, whether long-term residents, students or professionals on assignment. It links members to the wider INAA network and ensures no one is far from community.
Other Diaspora
Covering Iteso and friends of the Ateker community living outside North America.
Our community extends well beyond North America – to the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and across Africa. The Other Diaspora Chapter keeps these members connected to INAA’s programmes, events and development initiatives, wherever in the world they call home.
