Leadership
Asakut Faith
Secretary · 2024–2026
My name is Faith Asakut, and I come from Kumi District in the Teso region of Uganda. I currently reside in Concord, North Carolina, and I am a proud Atesot with a deep appreciation for our identity, heritage, and community.
My decision to join the Iteso of North America Association (INAA) is rooted in a strong desire to remain connected to our people and to the cultural identity and sense of kinship that unite Iteso wherever we may live. I believe deeply in the power of unity to inspire hope, courage, leadership, and meaningful transformation within our community.
I am inspired by the generations of great Iteso men and women who came before us individuals who believed in the strength of our people and worked toward building a more united, independent, and empowered community. Their efforts remind us that the responsibility to strengthen our community now rests with our generation.
As Secretary of INAA, I am honored to contribute to an organization that brings Iteso in the diaspora together, strengthens our shared identity, and creates opportunities for us to support one another and contribute positively to the development of our communities.
I believe that when we have confidence in ourselves, preserve our heritage, and work together with a common purpose, we can build upon the foundation laid by those before us and create an even stronger future for the generations that follow.
“Our identity connects us. Our unity strengthens us. Our collective purpose moves us forward.”
