About us

Iteso of North American Association (INAA) is a community based and registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt  a non-profit organization based in Boston, MA. It’s also a non-religious and non-partisan organization born out of desire to unite, promote, expand and preserve the culture and heritage of all people of “ITESO “ roots (Ugandan and Kenyan) descent in the United States and Canada.

Code of Ethics

The Iteso Of North American Association (INAA)  requires and encourages patrons, officers, and members to observe and practice high standards of personal ethics, honesty and integrity in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities and comply with all applicable Bylaws of the association.

It is the intent of INAA members, to adhere to all laws and regulations that apply to the association and the underlying purpose of the policy is to support the association’s goal of legal compliance

Our Mission Statement

To bring together members with Iteso roots living in the diaspora (USA & CANADA) and provide a platform on which they can network, share, and experience the Iteso culture and abundant opportunities of our new home and those of our heritage.

Our Vision

We are dedicated to providing a conducive  environment through education, networking opportunities and other services that help Iteso community members adapt and thrive. We celebrate the contributions of all Iteso people in North America and help new immigrants integrate better into the larger American society.  We strive to leverage the transformative power of collective action to create solid partnerships that use advocacy and philanthropy to promote inclusive and lasting socio-economic progress in our community and beyond.

Objectives

  • To promote unity and cooperation within the Iteso communities
  •  To promote the Iteso art, cultural value and Heritage in the diaspora and within Teso region
  •  To promote social and economic development in the diaspora and Teso region
  • To encourage and improve the community lifestyle and well-being of Iteso in the diaspora 
  • To provide value-added services, with emphasis on Education, Health, Employment, Resettlement, social wellness, and recreation
  • To build bridges between the Iteso community in the diaspora and other local communities in the spirit of mutual friendship, collaboration, and mutual respect. 
  • To act as a liaison between the Iteso in the diaspora (North America), the Iteso Kingdom and the Ugandan Government

Convention Objectives

  • To celebrate Teso culture and heritage
  • To brainstorm on economic avenues for Teso development 
  • To fundraise for a common cause and all funds will benefit local communities in Uganda
